ParentSquare, the award-winning unified school-home communications platform for K-12 education, has been selected to be a corporate council member of the New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE).
NYSCATE is a nonprofit, professional organization representing more than 25,000 technology-using educators and administrators in the state of New York. Its Corporate Council is made up of edtech providers that share NYSCATE’s vision for serving educators and are seeking to build relationships with the state’s educators and education leaders.
The corporate council membership opens the door for ParentSquare to collaborate within the NYSCATE community and to hear from educators statewide about how the platform’s functionality can be enhanced to better meet the school-home communications needs of its members. Additionally, ParentSquare’s admission to the NYSCATE Corporate Council lets educators know that ParentSquare is compliant with the state’s EdLaw 2.d, which regulates data privacy and security. This means districts no longer need to conduct their own EdLaw 2.d verification.
“New York educators want to connect with organizations that are effective at supporting districts’ needs – like ParentSquare,” stated NYSCATE CEO and Executive Director Dr. Amy DelCorvo. “We’re looking forward to partnering with them to improve the use of technology in our schools.”
ParentSquare is quickly becoming the leading school communications platform in New York. In 2021 alone, nearly 100 school districts in the state of New York adopted ParentSquare’s feature-rich, two-way communications platform. ParentSquare’s NYSCATE council membership now allows districts to acquire the platform through their local Regional Information Centers (RICs).
“ParentSquare has quickly and definitively proven itself the most critical component of our district’s communications infrastructure. It is by far the most intuitive and innovative tool we have in our communications toolbox,” said Indian River Central School District Instructional Technology Specialist Paul Hughes.
ParentSquare enables districts to easily contact the parents and guardians of their students while overcoming language or socioeconomic barriers and maintaining the highest standards of privacy and security. Families can receive alerts for school or district news, activities and events, as well as complete forms and permission slips, sign up for parent-teacher conferences, check attendance, RSVP for events, and more.
School staff and parents can also participate in one-to-one and group messaging with real-time language translation. ParentSquare offers translation to more than 100 languages, and app, email, text, voice, and web portal access for more equitable communications district-wide. It also features extensive integrations with student information and other critical administrative systems and single sign-on capabilities.
