ParentSquare, developer of the premier unified school-home engagement platform for K-12, has acquired Gabbart Communications, a website and content management system (CMS) business. With the acquisition, ParentSquare provides K-12 schools and districts with expanded offerings to elevate family and community engagement experiences, including the ParentSquare platform’s new integrated school website module, Smart Sites, available today.

ParentSquare is the only fully unified product that connects every family with school communications — all the way from the district office to the classroom teacher, and all in one place. With the integration of Gabbart Communications’ school website tool, the ParentSquare platform now offers Smart Sites, a new module that enables educators to publish posts and alerts directly to website pages and social media channels from ParentSquare. Smart Sites users can add information to ParentSquare and have the module automatically furnish the new information on their website and in social media posts and messages to families and community members, ensuring content consistency.

“We are always thinking about how we can deliver new ways to help build relationships between schools and families,” ParentSquare President and Founder Anupama Vaid said. “We’ve seen a trend of districts wanting to engage with parents and the community on all platforms and channels. And we also saw the need for a combined solution that would enable efficient messaging across those myriad platforms and channels. This acquisition is our response. Gabbart Communications has deep expertise in school websites, branding, and a culture of creating community. We are excited to bring our two organizations together, creating the first fully integrated platform for communication to schools and districts nationwide.”

Gabbart Communications’ school website tools help teachers, school administrators, coaches, and organization sponsors improve their communications with students, families, and community patrons.  The company was founded in 2003 and launched its first website for schools in 2007. It has serviced more than 600 school districts with a 96% retention rate since then.

“I’ve been a great admirer of ParentSquare’s integrated platform, and I’m thrilled that we’re now a part of it,” Gabbart Communications Founder, President & CEO Teddy Gabbart said. “Like us, ParentSquare is founder-led and believes that helping educators engage easily and consistently with families and the community significantly contributes to students’ learning and wellbeing. By joining forces, our companies have created a communication resource that’s the first of its kind – something truly greater than the sum of its parts.”

The United Independent School District in Texas has been a customer of both ParentSquare and Gabbart Communication.

“This is a golden opportunity for us. Parents now expect to engage with us where and how they prefer, so having the first truly integrated website and communications solution at our fingertips will save our staff a great deal of time and boost our school-community relationships,” said Hector J. Perez, Assistant Superintendent for Technology. “Both companies are innovators, and both provide amazing customer support. I can’t wait to see what else comes from their pooled resources.”
