Meet Mike Oswalt, our Vice President of Business Development!
If you had to teach a subject, what would it be?
I spent the first eight years of my K12 career as a teacher of adult and alternative education students. Given the chance to teach again, I would love to use my experiences to teach leadership development to aspiring individuals seeking to empower their teams to be successful by making a positive difference together in their environments.
Favorite family tradition?
I was born on 10/02 at 10:02 in the morning. My wife and three grown kids share a messenger group – whenever one of us looks at the clock and it’s 10:02, we send a “10:02, I love you” message to the group.
Favorite movie and/or book?
All Star Wars movies
What are some small things that make your day better?
Kissing my wife on the way to filling up my coffee cup.
Do you have any pets? If so – what kind? What are their names?
Dog – toy cockapoo – Reggie. You’ll see him sleeping behind me on my office couch.
What teacher impacted you the most? Why?
Mr. Skarp – 6th grade teacher – he was a gentle giant (7 feet tall) that took his time to be sure all students were learning.
Where did you grow up?
Battle Creek, Michigan. My wife and I raised our three kids in my childhood home.
What are you most likely doing on a Saturday afternoon?
Spend the day with my wife, Tammy, visiting any variety of places in northeast Tennessee – farmers market, antique store, restaurant, movie, coffee shop.
