Do you have any pets? If so – what kind? What are their names?

I have two pets. Snitch is a chihuahua dachshund mix and Michael is a orange tabby cat.

What’s your favorite holiday & why?

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. I have so many great memories from my childhood and many of my family’s traditions have been passed on to my daughter. We love the festive spirit, holiday movies, baking cookies, and driving around to look at lights.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go & why?

My number one travel location is Japan. I love the architecture, food, and culture. It’s actually my teen’s graduation trip request!

Leia with her daughter, Alexis, at Disneyland.

What are some small things that make your day better?

Podcasts and audiobooks! I love listening to various podcasts and books when driving or doing housework.

What is the nerdiest thing you do in your free time?

I’m a big video gamer and love to play games in my free time. My favorite game is The Sims 4 which is basically a life simulator, so I spend my free time controlling digital people in their little digital lives.

If you had to teach a subject, what would it be?

I used to be an English Language Arts and journalism teacher. If I were to go back to teaching, I would choose one of those areas as they are my passions.

Favorite family tradition?

Every year I collect a new photo Christmas tree ornament and put a picture of my daughter in it. I plan to pack them all up when she moves away from home, so she has 18 ornaments to start her own Christmas ornament collection.

Favorite restaurant?

There’s a great restaurant that I love called Cafe Tutu Tango which specializes in Spanish-style tapas and small plates. They do an amazing bottomless brunch every weekend!

What are three things still left on your bucket list?

Most of my bucket list is travel locations. I want to travel to Japan, Germany, and Italy. I also want to go skydiving. And I want to go to the taping of a TV show.

Favorite movie and/or book?

My favorite book has to be Of Mice and Men and my favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption.

What do you like most about working for ParentSquare?

I am excited to work with others who are passionate about education and supporting parent-school communication. As a parent and a former teacher, this is an important mission for me!
