Where did you grow up?
In the country halfway between Joplin and Neosho, Missouri.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
• Visit every continent
• Hike a large portion of the Grand Canyon
• Drive Route 66 in its entirety.
In what ways are you the same as your childhood self?
I play with legos. Love being creative and I’m not going to lie, it’s so much fun!
What words of wisdom would you pass onto your childhood self?
Care less about what others think of you.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
Ireland. Specifically, middle of nowhere Ireland and any random restaurant/pub just to watch and engage people. There’s just something about Irish culture that speaks to me.
Favorite quote?
“Anything worth doing, is worth doing right.” Hunter S Thompson. Though my father used the quote many times in my lifetime. It stuck.
If you could have dinner with anyone (dead or alive) who would it be?
The Inklings. Who is that you say? The Inklings were a group of writers that wanted to write work worthy of their time. The founding members were J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. I think we all have something to learn from a desire to make something that is great and lasts beyond our lives.
Do you have any pets?
I own two pets.
- Benny, a shih tzu/poodle mix. Benny is black, though he’s starting to gray out a little as he turns 7 years old in January.
- Tully, a medium haired jet black cat named after House
Riverrun from Game of Thrones. Tully loves on his own terms and that’s okay.
What do you like most about working for ParentSquare?
Working for an innovative organization who always has the customer’s needs closest to heart, which has lead to true innovation. In my eyes, ParentSquare is the most significant technology impacting school communication since the robo-system.
