Meet Jennie Sisco! Jennie is a Customer Support Agent and was a Summer Trainer!
If you had to teach a subject, what would it be?
Sort of a trick question because I taught high school English for 15 years. However, I often found myself envious of math teachers. I loved discussing the “big ideas” in my English class, but I also think it would be rewarding to teach a subject where there’s one correct answer to agree on!
What words of wisdom would you pass onto your childhood self?
I’d tell myself not to worry about what other people think of you. Truth is, they’re spending way more energy concerned with their own insecurities and interests than they are with you.
In what ways are you the same as your childhood self?
I’m the same as my childhood self in that I’m an optimist. As I’ve gotten older I’m probably more like an optimist with a backup plan!
Do you have any pets? If so – what kind? What are their names?
We have two cats that act more like dogs – they’re definitely “people” cats. Their names are Mango and Cocoa.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up just outside of Chicago, in a suburb called River Forest. It was a great balance of quiet suburban life with easy access to a fabulous city.
What are you most likely doing on a Saturday afternoon?
On a Saturday afternoon I’m most likely cheering on one (or both!) of my kids in their passions – baseball for my son and dance for my daughter.
Would you rather explore a new planet or the deepest part of the ocean? Why?
I’d rather explore the deepest part of the ocean – I think it’s fascinating how much we still don’t know about our own planet!
What are some small things that make your day better?
Some small things that make my life better: good coffee creamer, my favorite mechanical pencils, and mascara!
Favorite family tradition?
My son came up with the idea of having family movie night on Sundays to chase off the “Sunday night blues.” It’s become a peaceful way to wrap up the weekend and a bright spot that makes Sunday night a time to look forward to!
Favorite quote?
“Comparison is the thief of joy.” – Teddy Roosevelt
What do you like most about working for ParentSquare?
From the very first meeting I attended, I felt appreciated and welcomed. I also like the overall “vibe” that everyone at PS works really hard but doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
Jennie has been at ParentSquare since July 25, 2022.
