Meet Jeff Mark, a Senior Software Engineer here at ParentSquare! Jeff is primarily focused on our iOS app development.
What teacher impacted you the most? Why?
Mr. Filsinger in junior high school was my math and computer teacher. He helped spark my interest in computer programming.
Do you have any pets? If so – what kind? What are their names?
I always grew up being a cat person and had a couple cats of my own when I first graduated from college. My wife has always been a dog lover. We got our first family dog in February 2021 – a maltipoo named Piper – and have really enjoyed her company. I guess I’m a dog person now 🙂
Favorite family tradition?
Both my in-laws and my parents enjoy having extended family vacations together. I love spending time with the family and enjoying our time off together. We also often have birthday dinners and go out as a big group to celebrate our birthdays.
What are you most likely doing on a Saturday afternoon?
Saturday’s are now filled up with track meets for my 9yr old daughter. I also enjoy going on bike rides, swimming, or going to the parks with my daughters (now 9 & 12).
What is the nerdiest thing you do in your free time?
I’m involved in all things technical at my church. I actively maintain the website, setup Slack for church communication, Facebook page & group, Stripe and Cash App for online donations, and the video & audio production of all the content (sermons, devotions, bible studies) created by the Pastor.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
Sky diving, riding a motorcycle, taking the family to Disney World, Busch Gardens, and other amusement parks in Florida.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go & why?
I would travel to Greece. It’s on my wife’s bucket list 🙂
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest (Portland, Oregon). I love the green and variety of seasons. I also loved living close (within an hour) to the mountains as we would often take a day trip to ski in the winter.
What do you like most about working for ParentSquare?
I love the enthusiasm and passion of the team. I’m happy to be part of the team to help transform the school-to-parent communications.
