The NSPRA 2024 National Seminar is from July 14-17 in Seattle/Bellevue, Washington, and we can’t wait to see all the school public relations professionals, communications leaders, and other industry experts gather together for a week of learning, networking, and exploration of new ideas and resources.
For over 90 years, the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) has empowered school communication leaders to tell their districts’ stories and develop strong community connections. Pass the mic — it’s karaoke time! Battle of the SPRAS is back!
Join us on Monday, July 15 from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m., for the 8th Annual Battle of the SPRAs, a night of fierce karaoke competition between school PR professionals.
Last year’s performances were incredible — CHESPRA walked away as the 2023 champions, but who will take the crown for 2024? Our judges use a rubric to score performances based on vocals (35%), chapter participation (25%), song selection (10%), audience reaction (10%), and overall impression (20%).
While the Battle of the SPRAs is currently at full capacity, those interested in attending as a spectator should add their name to our waitlist in case tickets open up. This annual event is always a fun way to kick off the conference and catch up with old friends, and we’re looking forward to seeing what everyone has come up with for their performances!
PRO TIP! If you reserved a ticket, you must pick it up at the ParentSquare booth (or another sponsor booth) before noon on Monday, July 15. If you don’t grab your ticket before noon, they will be released to people on the waitlist.

Tackling the challenges of family engagement
Join ParentSquare’s Lindsey Fishback on Monday, July 15 at 11:30 a.m. for “Looking Through Different Lenses: A Glimpse Into Unique Engagement Challenges & How To Solve Them,” a panel session focused on family engagement challenges and solutions featuring our very own customer speakers. During this insightful discussion, we’ll look through the lens of five distinct family roles facing unique challenges and delve into the complexities of building meaningful school-home connections.
Our panel of ParentSquare customers and communications pros from Gwinnett County Public Schools (GA), Hallsville School District (MO), Troy City School District (NY), Community High School District 99 (IL), and Delavan-Darian School District (WI) will discuss practical approaches and innovative solutions to foster inclusive and effective family engagement — empowering attendees to build genuine connections between school and home.
Session attendees will leave with: Solutions for overcoming barriers and tips for building vibrant, engaged school communities.
Implementing a new communications tool
Join ParentSquare customer Erin Bischoff, Public Relations Officer at Bainbridge Island School District, in a SKILL session titled “What to Consider When Implementing a New Communications Tool” on Tuesday, July 16 at 4:30 p.m. Erin will share the steps to ensure switching to a new communication tool is a successful endeavor for improving family engagement and enhancing communications.
Session attendees will leave with: Detailed strategies, comprehensive knowledge, and easy-to-replicate best practices to ensure smooth implementation of a new communications tool in their districts.
