Claire Gelb: Sales Development Representative

Meet Claire Gelb, a Sales Development Representative!

Favorite movie and/or book?

Ohh this is tough. My favorite genre of books is Historical Fiction. Because I can’t pick just one, my current top 3 books are:

1. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini 2. Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi 3. Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go & why?

New Zealand! They have it all – mountains, beaches, cities, etc. I would love to rent a van and explore both North and South islands.

If you could have dinner with anyone (dead or alive) who would it be?

Beyonce! I am an avid member of the “Beyhive” and have gone to 8 Beyonce concerts so far, with hopes of more this next year 🙂

Favorite quote?

My dad said this to me about 10 years ago, and it remains one of my favorite pieces of advice and quotes to this day – “When faced with most decisions, we can’t make a wrong one. The path we choose isn’t the most important variable. The most important variable is what we do once we make that decision.” – Sam Gelb

What are you most likely doing on a Saturday afternoon?

If I am being active, you can usually find me hiking or skiing on a Saturday. If I’m being lazy, you can find me cozied up with a book or binging a show on Netflix, with UberEats on the way.

If you had to teach a subject, what would it be?

Having been a teacher- I would choose Phonics. There is no feeling like seeing “the spark”, and a child reading for the first time!

Do you have any pets? If so – what kind? What are their names?

Winnie! She is a Golden Retriever, and the smiliest girl.

Where did you grow up?

I was born in Washington D.C, but grew up in Des Moines, Iowa.

If you could dedicate your life to solving one problem, what would it be?

Ocean conservation- My favorite animals are Orca whales and I also love to scuba dive.

Favorite family tradition?

One of my favorite family traditions was every Sunday we ordered pizza and rotated who in the family got to pick the restaurant for that week.
