Adams Elementary School Increases Family Involvement For Families With Cultural and Language Barriers

Adams Elementary School needed a simple reliable solution that could help them reach all their diverse families and increase family engagement

School Name: Adams Elementary School
Type of School: Public Elementary School
Grade Level: TK-6
Enrollment: 575
Location: Santa Barbara, CA
District: Santa Barbara Unified

The Problem

Adams Elementary School had a goal to increase involvement for families with cultural and language barriers. They struggled to engage parents through website announcements, newsletters and flyers. They needed a tool that could help them conveniently provide families with meaningful opportunities to participate and support their children.

The Solution

Adams Elementary was introduced to ParentSquare in the Spring of 2013. Within the first school year, they went from zero to $12,000 in fundraising and collected 175 sign up items. By their 4th year in 2017, annual giving increased to $47,000 and they tracked 500+ sign up items. ParentSquare’s language translation and preferred method of delivery opened the lines of communication for all families at Adams Elementary.

“ParentSquare allows our entire school to create a community that fosters family involvement. There has been a dramatic increase in parent participation since we started using ParentSquare. I highly recommend it to any school looking to improve family involvement.”
