Is your district or school looking to take its community engagement to the next level? Do you want to generate greater awareness and involvement with everyone? ParentSquare’s new Community Groups feature allows you to do just that. Now, interested community members can sign up for various communications offered by districts and schools — with Community Groups web pages enabled at the district or school level, or both.
Here’s how Community Groups works
Community members can now keep up with activities and announcements based on their interests, such as:
-
Fundraisers
-
Afterschool programs
-
Sporting events
-
Alumni events
-
And more!
To start receiving information about events they’re interested in, all community members need to do is enter their first and last name, a valid email address, and select one or more groups to join. As Community Group administrators post to the group, all members will receive notifications.
Plus, when ParentSquare administrators combine the Community Groups feature with the platform’s existing Social Share and website sharing capabilities, community contact is multiplied.
Here’s how ParentSquare districts are using Community Groups to build stronger connections with all community members
Customer success story: Pleasanton Unified School District (CA) recently adopted ParentSquare’s new Community Groups feature to contact alumni of its oldest high school about that school’s centennial.
“Some alumni have email, some just have a phone number, but with Community Groups, we now can reach everyone, with relevant information.” — Patrick Gannon, Communications & Community Engagement Coordinator, Pleasanton USD
Customer success story: Yakima School District (WA) will be using Community Groups to spread the word about the auditorium renovation at A.C. Davis High School, one of its six high school campuses.
“Generations of people have attended Davis, and many have a huge sense of pride in our rich arts community. We’ll be connecting with alumni who have moved out of the area but are still enthusiastic about theater as well as with other groups who are invested in that high school.” — Kirsten Fitterer, Chief Communications Officer, Yakima School District
How to get Community Groups
Community Groups is included as part of the premium ParentSquare feature package, with options for SMS text messages and automated voice calls.
“Our Community Groups feature provides another layer of communications outreach to strengthen the relationship between schools, families, and the community at large. Involving interested community members in school-related activities not only fosters awareness and goodwill, but it can also bolster resources through donations, volunteering, and partnerships.” — Anupama Vaid, ParentSquare Founder & President.
If your school district is looking to extend its reach to all community members, we would love to help.
