Changelog is a roundup of what we’ve released in the last month! Here’s what was changed in January:
Re-designed Help Flow & Contact the School Form
-
“When does the meeting start tonight?”
-
“Where do I sign my child up for afterschool care?”
-
“How much is the cap and gown for my senior?”
-
“I can only see one child in ParentSquare, where are my other children?”
Most questions from parents are often meant for schools. Whenever we get questions like the ones mentioned above, we have to direct parents back to the school. We also discovered many administrators weren’t aware of all the different ways we provide customer service — email, chat and phone.
That’s why we decided to redesign our help flow — so we have more time to better service our schools, and parents can get their questions answered quicker. Here’s what we’ve changed:
-
The “Help” icon now provides options, instead of linking directly to Help.
-
We’ve added a “Contact School” option, so parents know how to contact their school for school-related questions. This defaults to the school phone number we have on file. School have the option to use a form instead too.
*If your school would like a form where parents can contact the school by email, simply visit the Add-Ons page and enable the option under Directory/User Account.
Filters for Auto-Notices
ParentSquare’s Auto Notices feature just got even better! Auto Notices are used to send personalized student notices — think lunch balances, overdue books, etc. Schools can now filter their Auto Notices with specific fields. For example, schools can set Auto Notices to automatically send to students who have an overdue library book past two weeks, a lunch balance below -$5.00, or those whose grade falls below a C. This allows for greater flexibility when sending Auto Notices!
Support for Dark Mode
For those of you who have gone to the dark side… we’ve got a special treat for you! ParentSquare can support Dark Mode for those of you with iOS 13!
Better Group Creation
During the onboarding process, ParentSquare automatically sets up groups from your Student Information System. However, if you want to create other groups (e.g. for Chess Club, the Water Polo team, or the gifted students program) we’ve improved our group creation feature via CSV file upload. Adding group members by uploading a CSV file now displays the count of found IDs and the staff IDs or student IDs that are missing from ParentSquare.
Enhanced Secure Document Delivery
Our Secure Document Delivery feature now allows use of State Student ID (as well as the SIS Student ID). This is helpful for state testing reporting or documents that use State IDs. Progress reports also usually use State IDs.
