Announcing the ParentSquare Learning Network!

Written by Rachelle Dene Poth, Director of Community for the ParentSquare Learning Network

It’s an exciting time for ParentSquare as we launch our new ParentSquare Learning Network! Together we are committed to engaging our parents, creating a supportive connection between home and school, and building a community where we can learn from one another. With the ParentSquare Learning Network, we will focus on accomplishing these goals and so much more!

So what is the ParentSquare Learning Network?

The Learning Network is a community of educators joining together to create a space where we can learn from each other, and discuss how to involve parents and inform them on new topics emerging in our schools. Topics will include Digital Citizenship, Social Emotional Learning, Equity Practices, School Safety and more. Each month, we will focus on a different topic and provide resources for educators to learn how to promote parent engagement in these topics, and how to bring this information to the larger educational community, beyond our ParentSquare Learning Network.

Resources: The ParentSquare Learning Network website will provide content such as webinars, blog posts and other resources created by thought leaders in our community of Learning Network Members.

Community: We have a private Facebook Community where learning network members can post questions, ask for ideas, and provide support for one another. We also host monthly Twitter chats revolving around our month’s topic.

How can I get involved?

Within the Learning Network, there are three different roles: Engagers, Experts, and Champions.

  • Engagers are actively engaged in our online community.

    • If you’re interested in building your network, learning what other schools are doing and joining the conversation on family engagement, then join the Learning Network Facebook group to become an Engager!

  •  Experts are thought leaders that create content for the Learning Network by writing blogs and/or presenting webinars.

    • If you want to give your ideas exposure and establish yourself as a thought leader, apply to be an Expert!

  • Champions do both — they are experts that actively participate in our community.

    • If you want to grow your network, share your ideas and participate in a thriving community, apply to be a Champion!

The Learning Network is open to all educators, not just ParentSquare users. This is ParentSquare’s way of giving back — our purpose is to create a welcoming space that is full of information, resources and support needed for critical issues in education today, so that we can best provide for our students and their families.
