Dear Parents,
Our superintendent sent the video link below to every principal in the district this morning and I am forwarding it to you to view as a parent since I know I often fall into the trap of overpraising my own two children. The video reminded me how important the slightest difference in our words can be in producing desired results for our children.
As I reflect upon my successes and what it took to get me there, I can honestly say that it wasn’t because learning came easy for me or that I was born a natural athlete, but rather my parents instilling in me the value of hard work and determination. I want more than anything for my own children to have these characteristics instilled in them as well as the children I serve everyday at this school.
