Jay Klanfer: VP District Partnerships

Meet Jay Klanfer, VP District Partnerships. He works to keep school districts informed about the next generation of parent engagement.

What teacher impacted you the most?

My two teenage daughters. They have taught me more about life than any textbook.

What words of wisdom would you pass onto your childhood self?

Always begin with the end in mind but embrace the pivot.

Where did you grow up?

Cleveland, OH. I love the CA lifestyle but growing up in Cleveland was the best. Still can’t find a good taco but other than that, it’s a great place.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

My father. His unconditional love and ability to simplify things helps me every day…maybe most days.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

Scuba diving throughout the Pacific and Caribbean was an exciting decade. I look forward to getting back to the peace, serenity and wonder of the reefs one day.

Do you have any pets?

Jasper the wonder dog. I live with the three wonderful woman (wife + 2 daughters). Jasper understands me and doesn’t ask questions. Good boy!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Never met a taco I didn’t like.

Any memorable ParentSquare moment?

Coming to the realization that we have the ability to make lives a little better for millions of students. It feels good to contribute.

What do you like most about working for ParentSquare?

The care and process that goes into product development, the people and good coffee…did I say good coffee?

Jay has been at ParentSquare since November 2017.
